YSI Summer Science Camps take children from pre-K through 6^th grade. Camps are held in Vasona Park in Los Gatos and Alum Rock Park in San Jose.

YSI Summer Science Camps feature guided exploration of these multifaceted natural environments through activities that satisfy the most spirited souls!

Kids build, conduct experiments, play games, hike, make creations from natural and recycled materials, share stories, and examine wildlife. Campers work and play in small groups, learning cooperation and teamwork. YSI Summer Camps use hands-on inquiry-based activities to keep learners engaged and active all summer long.

Camp Descriptions

Campers are grouped by age as indicated in the chart below:

Groups	Grades (Grade the child will be entering in the Fall of this year, 2011.)	Camp Times
A	PreKindergarten and Kindergarten. Children must have a date of birth before January 1, 2008.	9:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M.
B	1st grade and 2nd grade.*	9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
C	2nd grade and 3rd grade.*	9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
D	4th grade through 6th grade.	9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
2nd graders may enroll in either B (1st grade - 2nd grade) or C (2nd grade - 3rd grade) camps. Camps are based on the development of the child. Choose either the B or C Camp for your 2nd grader based on what you feel will be the best fit for your child. Still not sure? We want your child to have the best possible camp experience, so please call (408-356-4945 x 16) and we'll help guide you.*

A camps have a minimum of one instructor for every six campers. B, C, and D camps all have a minimum of one instructor for every seven campers.

Extended Day Summer Science Camp at Vasona
now runs until 6:00 p.m.

Extended Day Summer Science Camp runs from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Extended Day Summer Science Camp will be a continuation of the camp day for B, C and D campers (1st grade through 6th grade). It is NOT available for A campers.
Extended Camp activities include arts and crafts, story time, indoor and outdoor games and activities, hikes, quiet time and more!
YSI will maintain the same excellent program quality and the 1:7 Instructor to Camper ratio you’ve come to appreciate about YSI.

Fee = $179/week (in addition to morning camp fee).

Financial Aid

Limited scholarships (Financial Aid) are available for low income families; call 408-356-4945 x16 or click HERE or the bar above to download a PDF of the scholarship form.
You must also download a copy of the Summer Camp 2011 Form.
Both forms must be filled out, and returned to YSI.
