Summer Science Camp Registration

Registration

Registrations will be processed in the order in which they are received. YSI Family Members will receive priority registration.

Membership does not guarantee enrollment once a camp is full. YSI Family Members will receive priority registration. Memberships may be purchased at the time of registration.

Registrations may be mailed, faxed, phoned in or dropped off at the YSI Vasona Center.

(We do not have on-line registration available at the time of this printing, but we hope to have it soon at our website - www.youthscience.org. However, please do not wait to register as some camps fill quickly.)

1st, 2nd and 3rd choices for weekly camps should be listed on the registration form in case your 1st choice is full.

Phone notification will not be provided. All notifications will be mailed or emailed.

A wait list may be available for some camps. Wait list options will be reviewed at time of registration. An email address must be provided to be put on the wait list.

Last minute availability due to cancellations or adding of camps will be listed on YSI’s website, www.youthscience.org. Check frequently for camp availability.

YSI is proud to confirm that our Instructor to Camper ratios meet or exceed those recommended by the American Camp Association’s accreditation program.

Friends in Camp Policy
Occasionally YSI may add a second section of a popular camp. If you want a friend of sibling together in the same section of the camp, please indicate the name of the friend or sibling on the space provided on page 7 of the Registration Form. YSI will try to place them together, but it cannot be guaranteed. You may only request one other friend or sibling to be placed with your child.

Change Request Policy
Once a registration is confirmed, there will be a $25 administration fee per family for each change of camp requested (e.g., a change from one camp to another in the same week, or a change from one week to another). Change requests are considered new registrations and are processed in the order they are received.

Cancellation Policy
You may cancel a camp registration within 7 calendar days of the date on your notification letter without a fee unless the date of the notification is less than one week before the camp, in which case there is no refund.
For camp cancellations 7 days or more after the date on your notification letter, the following sliding scale of refunds will apply:

3 months or more prior to camp start date, 75% of the camp fee will be refunded.
2 to 3 months prior to camp start date, 50% of the camp fee will be refunded.
1 to 2 months prior to camp start date, 25% of the camp fee will be refunded.
Less than 1 month prior to camp start date, there will be no refund.
If a camp must be cancelled by YSI, a full refund will be given.

Minimum Enrollment
If minimum camp enrollment is not met two weeks prior to the first day of camp, that camp may be combined with others or cancelled. If camps are combined two weeks prior to the first day of camp, no refund will be given. If a camp is cancelled by YSI, a full refund will be issued.

Release Statement
I do hereby give my full consent for my children to participate in the Youth Science Institute’s programs listed and I have read the cancellation policy. I agree to hold harmless the Youth Science Institute and its officers, employees, volunteers and agents. Should any accident occur requiring medical care for my child, I give full consent to the providing of such care by a licensed physician. If my child should become a disciplinary problem in the opinion of the group leader, and by doing so seriously affect the quality of the trip or program for the other participants, I agree to pick up my child at a place designated by the representative of the Youth Science Institute, however inconvenient that may be. I acknowledge that depending on the type of program, other Releases may be required. Further, I hereby grant full permission to any and all foregoing to use photographs, videotape, motion pictures, recording and any other records of this event for any purpose whatsoever.
