Donations have continued to roll in for the Los Gatos-based Youth Science Institute, which is aiming to raise $300,000 by the end of the month to keep its education programs afloat.
Community relations manager Leyla Gunduz says $220,000 has come in so far, with just a couple of weeks left before the Jan. 31 deadline. "We're just looking for that last push to bring in the last $80,000," she said.
The nonprofit agency provides hands-on, nature-based science programs in schools and at its centers at Vasona, Sanborn and Alum Rock parks to 33,000 students every year. To find out more or to donate, go to www.ysi-ca.org.
