School Program Registration is Open for 2010-11 School Year
YSI hosts a wide variety of fun, Educational Programs for all grade levels.
Sign up your kids or students for any of our many engaging activities.

Programs Complement the California State Science Standards
Bring your class or group to YSI's Science and Nature Centers for a hands-on nature based science program.
Can’t come to us? YSI will bring them to you with our At-School Program.

Our future depends on boosting interest in science

There is no shortage of raw talent out there. But Silicon Valley is not a typical community, and broader statistics suggest we may be headed for trouble. International patent filings from the United States declined by 11 percent last year, while China's increased nearly 30 percent . . .
Fewer college students in the developed world are opting to study science and engineering at an advanced level. And the clearest explanation is that fewer grade school students are given enough reason to take an interest in science from an early age. Read more . . .

Smoot said that he wants students today to have the same opportunities for a good education that he had, but too many U.S. science and math teachers do not have the experience or training needed to prepare the next generation of scientists. Read more . . .
